Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting a dedicated Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join their Urgent Care West Kent Team. Based at Unit G under Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (rated "Outstanding" by the CQC), this permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week, 24/7 rota) offers an exciting opportunity to deliver rapid community care across Maidstone and West Kent, UK.
In this community-based role, you will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering a rapid two-hour crisis response service and supporting the Home Treatment Service to prevent unnecessary acute hospital admissions. You will visit patients in their own homes to provide personal and clinical care, perform basic observations, manage catheters and stomas, perform venepuncture and subcutaneous injections, and support independent living within integrated neighbourhood teams.
Role Description
As a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant, you will deliver rapid-response clinical and personal care to patients in home settings, perform routine diagnostic checks and clinical procedures, and support hospital-at-home services.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver rapid-response personal and clinical care, including hygiene assistance, catheter care, stoma management, and nutrition/hydration support.
Perform basic clinical observations, blood glucose monitoring, MRSA swabbing, phlebotomy (venepuncture), and subcutaneous injections (e.g., insulin) under clinical guidance.
Record accurate patient documentation, use mobile healthcare databases, recognize clinical deterioration, and escalate concerns promptly to senior clinical staff.
Requirements
QCF Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare (or BTEC/equivalent international qualification), or equivalent demonstrable clinical healthcare experience.
Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths (GCSE Grades A*-C / 4-9 or equivalent).
Valid full UK or EU driving licence with access to a vehicle for community travel.
