About the Role
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the care home’s physical environment, ensuring the building, facilities, and grounds are kept in peak condition to provide a safe and comfortable home for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance: Carry out routine repairs, minor plumbing, basic electrical work, painting, and general touch-ups across the care home.
Grounds Upkeep: Keep garden areas, pathways, and outdoor spaces tidy, safe, and attractive for residents and visitors.
Health & Safety Checks: Conduct regular safety audits, fire alarm tests, water temperature checks, and equipment maintenance checks in line with safety regulations.
Resident Support: Assist residents with personal room adjustments or minor fixes in a courteous, patient, and respectful manner.
About You
We are looking for a skilled, practical individual with a caring nature and a genuine interest in supporting older adults.
Requirements:
Experience: Practical experience in property maintenance, general DIY, or trade skills.
Mindset: Practical, adaptable, and willing to turn your hand to a wide variety of tasks.
Attributes: Reliable, patient, empathetic, and safety-conscious with strong attention to detail.
Communication: Good interpersonal skills to interact warmly with residents, families, and staff.
