Hospital Porter (Bank)

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is seeking a reliable Hospital Porter to join the team at North Staffordshire Hospital in Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK. In this role, you will play a vital operational and patient support role, helping move patients, equipment, and supplies safely throughout the hospital.

Working on a flexible bank contract basis, you will support hospital operations on an ad-hoc schedule to suit facility requirements and your availability. Working closely with theatre teams and ward staff, you will help create a reassuring environment for patients while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transfer and escort patients to and from individual rooms, wards, and operating theatres pre- and post-surgery.

• Assist theatre teams with moving, setting up, and ensuring the full functionality of heavy clinical equipment.

• Maintain effective communication across clinical departments and assist with the cleaning of theatre environments and equipment.

Requirements

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a warm, reassuring patient manner.

• Physically fit and comfortable performing tasks involving lifting, pushing, and manual handling in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness to undergo enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
