Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Barchester Healthcare to recruit a talented and passionate Bank Chef for Werrington Lodge Care Home.
Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food while enjoying a better work-life balance without the grueling split shifts and long weeks of standard hospitality? In this flexible bank role, you will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, working directly with residents to tailor meals around their preferences. You will help deliver hotel and restaurant standards of hospitality in a warm, award-winning care environment where quality truly matters.
Key Responsibilities
Help manage the kitchen effectively in the Head Chef’s absence.
Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes cooked to exceptional standards.
Help lead, inspire, and motivate the kitchen team.
Support menu development and engage with residents to tailor food options.
Oversee stock control, budget management, and regular kitchen audits.
About You
Hold City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent culinary qualifications.
Experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients with a strong understanding of nutrition.
Good understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations.
Previous experience in helping lead and inspire a team.
Personable, warm approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
