Hours: 25 hours per week (Shifts can start as early as 04:30 AM and finish as late as 10:30 PM; covers the wider area, so a full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required)

We are currently recruiting a Retail Shift Manager on behalf of a leading national food-on-the-go retailer known for its energetic team culture, supportive workplace environment, and excellent employee perks.
About the Role
As a Shift Manager, you will play an integral role on the store leadership team. This specialized area-cover role offers variety and responsibility, stepping in to manage shop floor operations across stores in the Peterborough area when the Store Manager is away, keeping teams motivated, organized, and focused on delivering exceptional customer service.
Our client serves customers across multiple channels—in-shop, Click & Collect, delivery, and drive-thru. You will lead by example to make sure every customer receives a fast, friendly, and high-quality service experience.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Engage, inspire, and support store teams across the area to achieve great operational results and uphold brand standards.
Customer Service: Lead by example by providing fast, warm, and friendly customer service across all ordering channels.
Product Preparation: Assist in preparing food products, including sandwich making and managing baking schedules.
Stock & Merchandising: Ensure display units remain fully stocked, organized, and attractive throughout the shift.
Store Operations: Maintain high standards of hygiene, tidiness, and presentation across the shop floor.
Candidate Requirements
Supervisory Experience: Previous team leading or supervisory experience in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment.
Driving Licence & Travel: Must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle, as this role covers stores across the local area.
Shift Flexibility: Ability to work flexible shift patterns, with early starts from 04:30 AM and late finishes up to 10:30 PM.
Leadership Qualities: Strong communication skills with a natural ability to adapt quickly and motivate diverse teams.
