We are currently recruiting an enthusiastic Swimming Teacher to join the team at Westgate Leisure Centre on behalf of Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT).
In this vital role, you will follow the Swim England learn-to-swim framework to deliver safe, fun, and progressive lessons. Whether helping children build water confidence or guiding future competitive swimmers, your work directly supports healthier, happier, and more active local communities.
What You’ll Do
As a Swimming Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Lesson Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, safe, and progressive swimming lessons following the Swim England framework.
Participant Engagement: Support swimmers of all ages and backgrounds to build water confidence, essential life skills, and technique.
Flexible Working: Work around your current personal and professional commitments with flexible scheduling and casual hours.
Continuous Development: Engage with ongoing training through the in-house Aquatic Training Academy and specialist CPDs.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Must hold either a STA Award/Certificate in Teaching Swimming or a Swim England (ASA) Level 2 qualification.
Certifications (Advantageous): Holding a valid RLSS UK NPLQ, NRASTC, or STA Safety Award for Teachers is beneficial, though free training can be provided to complete these courses if needed.
Customer Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a friendly approach to dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds.
Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and helping others learn a life-saving skill.
Vetting and Checks
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role (provided free of charge by the employer). Candidates will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to ensure appropriate support is provided.
