Are you passionate about baking and ready to "prove" yourself? Morrisons is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Market Street Baker in Newlands, Glasgow. As the friendly face of the fresh bakery counter, you will bring traditional craft skills to life—preparing a wide variety of breads, rolls, doughnuts, and fruited items—to ensure our customers enjoy top-quality, fresh-baked goods every single day.
Key Responsibilities
Mix, mould, and shape dough to company specifications using standard bakery equipment (provers, ovens, mixers).
Ensure full customer confidence in product availability by maintaining fresh, attractive food displays throughout the trading day.
Deliver outstanding, friendly customer service, highlighting Morrisons' traditional skills and fresh product offerings.
Work flexibly across other fresh counters on Market Street to support wider team goals and customer needs.
Maintain rigorous standards of health, safety, and hygiene at all times.
What We Are Looking For
To succeed in this role, you will be someone who:
Possesses competent baking skills, with experience gained as a trained baker, in a bakery, or within a professional kitchen.
Has a friendly, supportive approach and loves meeting new people.
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, active, and varied retail environment.
Uses your own initiative to support team members and resolve customer queries.
Is over the school leaver’s age.
