About the Role
We are recruiting a creative and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator on a permanent basis on behalf of Wellesley Hospital in Wellington, Somerset, a purpose-built 101-bed hospital supporting men and women with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities, and autism.
Working part-time across Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), you will create an engaging, activity-based culture tailored to the social, recreational, and leisure needs of service users. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will design 1-to-1 and group programmes, conduct daily risk assessments, observe patient responses, and help build community links to support their recovery journey.
What You Will Need
Essential Criteria: Basic group work skills, a solution-focused approach to problem-solving, strong organizational and communication abilities, an awareness of mental health, gender, and cultural needs, and a Full UK Driving Licence.
Experience: A minimum of 12 months' experience working within a mental health setting is highly desirable.
Attributes: High initiative, motivation, and a compassionate, person-centred approach to supporting vulnerable adults.
Proximity: Ideally living within a manageable commute of Wellington, Somerset (TA21 9FF).
