About the Role
As a Kitchen Assistant working through our supportive bridge staffing agency at Shockerwick House, you will be part of the vibrant culinary team that brings joy to our residents every single day. Set in a highly rated, person-centred care home, our kitchen is the heart of delicious meals and exceptional dining experiences.
In this role, your passion for food and warm personality will help bridge the gap between the kitchen and our residents, ensuring every meal feels like home and every special event—from summer BBQs to holiday parties—is a memorable occasion.
Key Responsibilities
Dining Service & Liaison: Act as the vital link between the main kitchen and our residents, ensuring meals are served seamlessly.
Kitchen Support: Assist chefs with plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and maintaining immaculate, clean, and tidy food prep areas.
Safety & Compliance: Monitor stock rotation carefully, complying with all company policies and adhering strictly to mandatory COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
Special Events: Help cater for special home events, celebrations, and seasonal gatherings like summer BBQs and Christmas parties.
Key Skills & Qualifications
A genuine passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen environment.
Holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
A warm, communicative, and friendly approach with a talent for cherishing small moments with residents.
A strong commitment to maintaining high hygiene and safety standards across the home.
