Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our trusted justice partners for a dedicated Therapeutic Community Forensic Psychologist.
Based within the Psychological Services team at HMP Dovegate, you will play an instrumental role in delivering specialist psychological care within the prison's Therapeutic Community. By supporting assessments, active therapy, risk management, and comprehensive rehabilitation, your work will help individuals address offending behaviour, reduce risk, and build a safer, more positive future.
Psychological Assessments: Administer specialized forensic assessments, including HCR-20, SARA, WAIS, IPDE, and PCL-R evaluations as required.
Therapy & Group Facilitation: Facilitate dynamic therapy groups, community meetings, and risk-reduction work, supporting residents throughout their therapeutic journey.
Clinical Reporting: Complete comprehensive parole reports, parole directions, and clinical documentation within strict deadlines.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare, offender management, education, and custodial professionals to optimize resident rehabilitation outcomes.
Supervision & Mentorship: Provide professional supervision and line-management guidance to Forensic Psychologists in Training.
Service Development: Support the continuous delivery and quality improvement of psychological services within the Therapeutic Community.
Professional Registration: Registered Forensic Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), or a Forensic Psychologist in Training who has completed all required stages and is close to full registration.
Practical Experience: Proven background working with offenders and delivering psychological assessments and interventions within a forensic or custodial setting.
Core Skills: Exceptional clinical report-writing, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusted professional relationships.
Theoretical Knowledge: Solid understanding of psychological approaches to violent offending, personality disorders, and psychotherapeutic interventions.
Vetting: This role requires an Enhanced DBS check and completion of an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
