Key Responsibilities
Ensure the building and grounds are well-maintained by conducting routine checks, servicing, and basic repairs to equipment and systems.
Carry out general maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, joinery, and building work both inside and outside the home.
Support new residents in arranging their rooms to their personal preferences and oversee routine re-decoration to maintain high property standards.
Advise on the supply and quality of maintenance items, ensuring timely ordering of replacement goods.
Provide an out-of-hours emergency service by participating in the on-call rota.
Person Specification & Requirements
Experience & Qualifications: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a general maintenance or handy person role, and/or hold a professional trade qualification.
Essential Requirements: Must hold a full driving licence and possess a working knowledge of Health and Safety protocols, including Moving and Handling, Fire Safety, and COSHH assessments.
Core Skills & Qualities: Adaptability and flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice, alongside alignment with Avery's values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable.
Compliance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required (cost met by Avery Healthcare) alongside proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
