Support Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with leading fleet and transport service providers to connect skilled professionals with essential roles. We are currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced Workshop Mechanic to join our team in Derbyshire Dales.
In this hands-on role working within a well-equipped workshop environment, you’ll be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and inspection of commercial vehicles. All work is carried out in line with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness, ensuring our fleet remains safe, reliable, and fully compliant to support vital community services.
What You’ll Do
Inspections & Servicing: Carry out thorough routine inspections, servicing, and repairs across a diverse range of commercial vehicles.
Diagnostics & Repair: Accurately diagnose technical faults and deliver efficient, high-quality repairs.
Safety & Compliance: Work with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure statutory safety inspections are scheduled and executed, perform brake testing, and maintain DVSA compliance.
Road Testing: Conduct necessary road tests following repairs to confirm vehicles are entirely safe and roadworthy.
Workshop Standards: Maintain a clean, organized workshop environment that promotes safety, efficiency, and accurate record-keeping for all service logs.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Full industry-recognised qualifications, such as City and Guilds or an NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Experience: Proven experience maintaining commercial vehicles or large vehicle fleets.
Licence: A valid Category C Driving Licence (or a willingness to obtain one).
Specialist Skills: Prior experience working with specialist hydraulic systems is highly advantageous.
