We are currently recruiting a proactive and customer-focused Logistics Operative to join the team within the clothing stores based at RAF Brize Norton.
In this vital role, you will provide essential logistical support to the Royal Air Force, helping fulfill operational and peacetime obligations. Working within a physically active environment, you will manage stock distribution, ensure rigorous inventory control, and deliver exceptional face-to-face customer service to personnel collecting orders and protective equipment.
As a Logistics Operative, your responsibilities will include:
Customer Service Delivery: Welcome personnel, greet customers, and distribute clothing and protective equipment via counter-collect and drop-in services.
Stock & Storekeeping: Handle day-to-day stock management, distribution, and handling while ensuring high accuracy in stock control holdings.
IT Systems Management: Frequently utilize internal IT systems and the Microsoft Office Suite to manage emails, records, and inventory data.
On-Call Flexibility: Participate in a rotational on-call schedule (attracting additional on-call payments and overtime compensation for any extra hours worked).
Team Player: A collaborative, supportive mindset with a strong dedication to team success.
Logistics Experience: Proven background working in a warehouse, stock control, or logistics environment.
IT Proficiency: Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and confidence using digital IT systems.
Customer Focus: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deliver friendly, professional service.
Driving Licence: A Category B (Car) driving licence is highly desirable.
This role requires a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) verification (covering identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record) alongside the acquisition of formal Security Clearance (SC) due to the secure environment. Candidates will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
Competitive Pay: £25,600 per annum + on-call payments and overtime opportunities.
