Location: Edingley Lodge Care Home, Station Road, Newark, NG22 8BX (Supporting homes across the region)
Pay Rate: £20.00 per hour + Mileage / Travel Costs
Contract Type: Permanent (40.00 hours per week)
Shift: Days (with alternate weekends)
Closing Date: 19 September 2026
About the Role

As a Peripatetic Chef within the Barchester family, you will travel to support our care homes in and around the region, helping them deliver exceptional, high-quality fresh food. You will bring your culinary expertise to various kitchens, ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, delicious meals while promoting an open, honest, and supportive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Support: Provide hands-on culinary support and leadership across several homes and teams within the region.
Fresh Food Preparation: Work with fresh, seasonal produce to create wholesome, top-quality dishes.
Kitchen Management: Apply strong kitchen management skills, maintain high food hygiene standards, and foster a warm, welcoming environment for residents and staff.
Resident Engagement: Confidently engage with residents to tailor menus and ensure a person-centred dining experience.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: NVQs / SVQs or City & Guilds equivalent, alongside up-to-date food hygiene certification.
Experience: Proven experience working with fresh, seasonal food and strong kitchen management capabilities.
Knowledge: A good understanding of nutrition.
Personality: A personable approach, confidence in engaging with residents, and a genuine interest in their overall well-being.
