About the Role

Provide vital technical expertise in the electronic aspects of Underwater Systems hardware design, repair, obsolescence, and sustainment! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this exciting Electronics Engineer position on behalf of BAE Systems.

In this role, you will support legacy products through technology insertion programmes, develop component-level analogue and mixed-signal designs, and work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure system integration and electro-mechanical performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Technology Insertion: Support existing electronic designs and technology insertion programmes, including fault diagnosis, rectification, and obsolescence mitigation.

• Assembly Development: Design and develop electronic assemblies through detailed design, testing, integration, and release into service.

• Analogue & Mixed-Signal Design: Develop component-level analogue, mixed-signal, and power electronic designs, including schematic capture and PCB layout support.

• Verification & Testing: Perform design verification and testing, covering EMC/EMI, regulatory requirements, and data communication interfaces.

• Manufacturing Collaboration: Ensure design for manufacture by managing parts information within SAP and collaborating closely with Mechanical, ILS, Safety, and Production teams.

What We Are Looking For

• Educational Background: HND or Degree in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• CAD Proficiency: Experience generating component-level electronic designs using electronic CAD tools.

• Technical Skills: Strong analogue and mixed-signal design experience (including filtering and signal conditioning) alongside power supply design capabilities.

• Desirable Experience: Prior knowledge or background in sonar, RF, signal processing, or FPGA/CPLD design.
