Pay Rate: £17.70 per hour
Hours: Bank / Casual (Flexible working)
Shift Pattern: Days (with alternate weekends)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are proud to partner with Barchester Healthcare to find a talented and passionate Bank Chef for Vecta House Care Home.
If you are a qualified chef looking to work with fresh, seasonal food while achieving a true work-life balance—without the long hours and split shifts of traditional hospitality—this is the ideal opportunity for you. You will assist the Head Chef in crafting nutritious, flavoursome, and well-balanced menus, tailoring dishes directly around the residents to deliver high hotel and restaurant standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing wholesome dishes using fresh, seasonal produce to the highest culinary standards.
Helping manage the kitchen efficiently in the Head Chef’s absence.
Collaborating with residents to tailor menus around their preferences and nutritional needs.
Managing stock control, working within budgets, and completing regular audits.
Assisting in leading, inspiring, and motivating the kitchen team.
About You
To join Barchester as a Bank Chef, you will need:
A personable, warm approach with a genuine interest in resident wellbeing.
City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ, or equivalent culinary qualifications.
Demonstrated experience working with fresh, seasonal food and a good understanding of nutrition.
A solid understanding of HACCP and food safety regulations.
Experience in helping lead and inspire a kitchen team.
