Join our team in Newark where patient-centred care sits at the heart of hospital life, allowing you to lead and coordinate essential physical healthcare pathways for women with complex care and mental health needs.
Lead and coordinate all aspects of service users' physical healthcare plans, ensuring optimum wellbeing and regular monitoring (e.g., blood screenings for Clozapine/Lithium, long-term conditions like diabetes, and ECGs).
Serve as the named Infection Control Lead for the hospital, offering professional advice, education, and support across clinical and non-clinical areas.
Act as the lead for NG tube feeding education, ensuring staff adhere strictly to dietitian prescriptions and care plans.
Chair the hospital’s healthy living group and facilitate educational workshops on physical healthcare best practices, immunisations, and health promotion.
Conduct clinical audits, support emergency drills, attend weekly ICR meetings, and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including GPs and SALTs.
Hold a full and valid NMC registration (RGN) with evidence required.
A minimum of 2 to 3 years of post-registration nursing experience.
Practical experience in NG Feeding and Phlebotomy.
Proven experience in training and educating others, coupled with a strong understanding of mental health settings.
The Farndon Unit in Newark (NG24 4SW) is a purpose-built low secure hospital providing personalised assessment, recovery pathways, and a trauma-specific framework for women with severe and enduring mental illnesses, personality disorders, or mild learning disabilities. The unit features low secure wards and a recovery area, fostering a seamless internal care pathway toward rehabilitation.
