About the Role
As a Permanent Second Chef at Bamfield Lodge Care Home, you will enjoy working with fresh seasonal food while maintaining a fantastic work-life balance without the long weeks and split shifts of traditional restaurants. Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting the Head Chef in menu development and managing the kitchen effectively in their absence.
Preparing and cooking wholesome dishes using fresh produce to meet the highest quality and safety standards.
Engaging directly with residents to create appetising, nutritious, and personalised menus tailored around their preferences.
Creating a warm, efficient, and fun kitchen environment while managing stock control, audits, and operating within budget.
About You
We are looking for a qualified, passionate Chef driven by quality and resident wellbeing. To join us, you will need:
A City & Guilds / NVQ / SVQ or equivalent catering qualification.
A personable, warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents.
Experience working with fresh seasonal food and a solid understanding of nutrition and HACCP guidelines.
Confidence engaging with residents and the ability to foster a welcoming, supportive environment.
