About the Role
As an Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) / Integrated Product Support (IPS) Engineer, you will play a critical role within Supply Support on the Type 26 and Royal Canadian Destroyer Global Combat Ship programmes. Your work will ensure these advanced vessels enter service with fully integrated, cost-effective, and sustainable support solutions. You will develop key supply deliverables, manage maintenance planning inputs, and ensure equipment is supportable and aligned with contractual requirements.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Apply proven analysis techniques to systems to understand support requirements and develop effective maintenance solutions.
Develop and maintain key supply support deliverables, including spares recommendations, Support & Test Equipment (S&TE) requirements, NSN population, and LSAR updates.
Deliver specific ILS/IPS outputs consistently to time, quality, and budget constraints.
Validate the work of fellow engineers through peer reviews while mentoring them to develop their technical skills.
Communicate and collaborate with customer representatives, classification authorities, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
What We Are Looking For (Essential Skills & Qualifications):
Education & Background: Hold an HNC/HND (or equivalent qualification) alongside relevant practical experience in engineering.
Core Knowledge: Strong knowledge of general engineering principles and an understanding of the ILS/IPS suite of disciplines.
Technical Experience: Practical knowledge and background working with either Electrical or Mechanical systems.
Analytical Skills: The ability to read and analyze schematic diagrams, technical documentation, and complex technical problems to provide effective digital solutions.
Security Note: Due to defense security and export control restrictions, all applicants must achieve at least a Baseline Personnel Security Standard. Higher levels of National Security Vetting may also apply, typically requiring 5 to 10 years of continuous UK residency.
