Your Role: What You’ll Do

As our Assistant Chef, you’ll weave culinary magic into our menus, creating dishes that bring genuine delight to our residents while keeping a watchful eye on budgets.

• Menu Planning & Seasonality: Design innovative menus that celebrate fresh, seasonal ingredients, balancing culinary creativity with cost-effectiveness.

• Recipe Development: Dream up crave-worthy, nutritious dishes that suit the specific needs and tastes of our residents while matching our kitchen's capabilities.

• Food & Inventory Management: Oversee food preparation, presentation, and taste to ensure a top-tier dining experience. Manage inventory carefully to minimize waste.

• Budget Mastery: Work confidently within a pricing strategy, understanding food and labor costs to keep the kitchen thriving.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from all sectors of the food industry. What matters is your skill, food safety knowledge, and commercial awareness.

• Proven Experience: Practical experience working as a Chef or Assistant Chef.

• Qualified: Holder of a valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent).

• Business Savvy: Good financial acumen—you know your numbers just as well as your favorite recipes.

• Passionate: A genuine desire to bring joy to residents through nutritious, delicious, and beautifully presented food.

• Eligible to Work: Must have the right to work in the UK and live within a commutable distance of Knebworth (SG3 6HG).
