HSSU Coordinator

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is seeking an organized HSSU Coordinator to join the Hospital Sterile Services Unit at a reputable private hospital in Chichester, UK. In this flexible bank role, you will play an essential part in managing the receipt, processing, and distribution of sterile surgical instruments to support operating theatre operations.

Working as part of a dedicated clinical support team, you will handle instrument trays, maintain accurate tracking documentation, and ensure adherence to decontamination and waste management protocols. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual looking for flexible ad-hoc shifts within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, track, and dispatch used and sterile surgical instrument trays and equipment to support operating theatre schedules.

• Inspect, maintain, and log HSSU equipment regularly, reporting any faults promptly to department leads.

• Handle and dispose of contaminated surgical waste in strict compliance with hospital infection control policies.

Requirements

• Basic computer literacy and strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

• Physical capability to move, lift, and handle equipment trays of varying weights and sizes safely.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
