Position: Kitchen Assistant

Location: The Lindsay Care Home, 47A Lindsay Road, Poole, BH13 6AP

Salary: £13.10 - £14.10 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent | Part-Time (30 hours per week)

Shift Pattern: Three 10-hour shifts per week (8:00 AM – 7:00 PM), requiring flexibility to work alternate weekends.

The Role

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will act as a vital link between the main kitchen and our residents, ensuring that dining is a highlight of their day. You will support our chefs with plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and maintaining immaculate hygiene and safety standards across all prep areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the bridge between the kitchen and our residents, ensuring a smooth and pleasant dining experience.

• Assist chefs in plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and keeping all preparation areas clean and tidy.

• Monitor stock rotation and comply with company policies, adhering strictly to COSHH and HACCP guidelines.

• Assist with catering for special events, such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties.

What We Are Looking For

• A passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen environment.

• A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

• A warm, communicative nature and a desire to cherish the little moments with residents and colleagues alike.

• Flexibility to work 10-hour shifts, including alternate weekends.
