About the Role
Supportive Bridge is proud to be recruiting on behalf of our valued leisure partners for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Health & Fitness Manager.
Based at Swan Pool and Leisure Centre, your core goal will be to lead and develop the health and fitness offer, getting more people more active, more often. By creating a welcoming environment, driving participation, managing the group exercise program, and developing your team, your work will directly impact local health and wellbeing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership: Lead, support, and develop the health and fitness team to deliver a safe, welcoming, and high-quality experience for members and visitors.
Floor Presence: Maintain a visible presence in the gym, actively engaging with customers, supporting colleagues, and upholding service standards.
Programme Management: Manage and evolve the group exercise timetable to match customer demand and maximize class participation.
Performance & Growth: Monitor performance indicators—including membership growth, retention, gym usage, and class attendance—taking proactive action to drive continuous improvement.
Sales & Engagement: Support membership sales, retention campaigns, and community engagement initiatives.
Health & Safety: Ensure all fitness facilities, equipment, and activities operate safely and strictly in line with company policy and statutory regulations.
What You’ll Need
Qualifications: Level 3 Fitness Instructor qualification (essential).
Professional Standards: Membership of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) is highly desirable.
Experience: Proven experience working within a commercial fitness environment alongside leading or supervising teams.
Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building abilities, with the capability to analyze performance data and apply insights.
Vetting: This role requires an Enhanced DBS check and an Occupational Health Questionnaire to ensure full safety and support.
