Rate of Pay: £12.75 per hour
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (18 hours per week; shifts on a rota basis between 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM, including alternate weekends)

We are partnering with Colonia Court Care Home in Colchester—a modern, purpose-built facility set in a leafy suburb with beautiful landscaped gardens, holding a "Good" CQC rating and an outstanding 9.7/10 score on carehome.co.uk—to find a passionate and dedicated Kitchen Assistant. Colonia Court provides nursing, residential, dementia care, and a dedicated unit for people living with Huntington's disease, focusing on a vibrant community environment where delicious food plays an essential part in daily life.
As a Kitchen Assistant through Supportive Bridge, you will be the vital link between the main kitchen and our residents. You will work alongside our talented chefs to ensure every meal delivers an exceptional dining experience, bringing passion, high standards, and a warm smile to help residents feel right at home.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the essential link between the main kitchen and our residents, serving as the magic behind each delicious dish.
Assist the chefs with plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and ensuring all food preparation areas are kept spotless, clean, and tidy.
Monitor stock rotation carefully, strictly complying with company policies, mandatory COSHH, and HACCP guidelines.
Assist with catering for special events and celebrations, such as summer barbecues and Christmas parties.
What We Are Looking For
A genuine passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen environment.
Holder of a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
A strong understanding of the importance of maintaining high standards to ensure residents enjoy a pleasant, safe dining experience.
Excellent communication skills and a friendly, caring attitude when working alongside the wider kitchen and care home teams.
