As a Fleet Manager within our VIVO team, you will play a central role in delivering safe, compliant, and cost-effective fleet operations that directly support essential public services. Working closely with contract teams, external suppliers, and operational colleagues, you will guarantee that vehicles remain fully available, roadworthy, and ready to meet rigorous demands.
Your work has direct purpose: by maintaining vehicles to the highest standards of safety and compliance, you help keep vital services moving while creating a positive impact on communities.
Operational Fleet Management: Manage day-to-day fleet requirements across the contract, maximizing vehicle availability for service delivery.
Maintenance & Servicing Oversight: Oversee comprehensive vehicle maintenance, servicing, inspections, and repairs in strict alignment with manufacturer guidelines and legislative requirements.
Cost & Performance Control: Monitor fleet expenditure, fuel usage, vehicle performance, and operational costs to drive value for money and minimize the total cost of ownership.
Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party suppliers, holding them accountable to performance metrics and agreed service levels.
Compliance & Legislation: Ensure absolute adherence to UK and EU road transport legislation, driver license checks, driver qualifications, and internal fleet policies.
Data Analytics & Innovation: Analyze telematics, fleet data, maintenance records, and utilization trends to pinpoint opportunities for continuous improvement and operational innovation.
We are looking for a proactive transport professional with a robust background in compliance, safety, and stakeholder collaboration.
Industry Experience: Proven experience in a fleet management role with direct responsibility for vehicle compliance, maintenance, and operational performance.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of UK and EU road transport legislation, including MOT requirements and Construction and Use Regulations.
Professional Qualifications: A recognized fleet management qualification, or equivalent extensive hands-on fleet management experience.
Relationship Management: Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of working collaboratively alongside operational teams and external vendors.
Analytical Ability: Strong reporting and data analysis skills, with practical experience utilizing fleet management systems to optimize performance.
Vetting Requirement: Ability to successfully pass Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance (and potentially further security checks depending on site requirements), alongside an Occupational Health Questionnaire.
Financial Package: Competitive starting salary of £38,400 - £42,000 per annum + a company car.
