Retail Shift Manager – New Store Opening! (Great Dunmow)

Location: Stortford Road, Great Dunmow (CM6 1WY)

Pay: £15.45 - £15.95 per hour (Earn an extra £2.00/hr on Bank Holidays and £3.50/hr for night shifts)

Hours: Permanent, Full Time (35+ hour contract, various shifts)

Experience: Management/Leadership experience required

About the Role

Be a part of something big right from the start! We are partnering with Lidl to build a brand-new leadership team for their New Store Opening in Great Dunmow.

We are looking for an organised, reliable Shift Manager to help launch this store and keep it running like clockwork. You will take real responsibility for the shop floor, lead your new team by example, and build the foundation for a highly successful branch.

What You Will Do

• Launch & Lead: Motivate your new colleagues, delegate tasks quickly, and build an environment where everyone can succeed.

• Run Daily Operations: Manage essential processes like stock levels, cash management, inventory, and product freshness.

• Help Customers: Set the standard for excellent service to give the local community an amazing first impression of their new store.

• Step Up: Confidently manage store operations and lead the team when senior managers are off-site.

What You Need

• Proven experience leading a team and hitting targets in a busy, fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills to assign tasks fairly and keep a new team focused.

• A friendly, patient attitude and the ability to stay completely calm under pressure.

• A proactive, encouraging approach to help your new colleagues grow their skills.
