About the Role

Support key Warship Technical Authority (WTA) service elements across critical naval platform systems! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this vital Mechanical Engineer position on behalf of BAE Systems.

Operating within the Asset Management team at Portsmouth Naval Base, you will contribute to design change, technical assurance, material state and obsolescence management, and specialist engineering support across diverse naval programmes like QEC, T45, T23, HUNT, OPV, and international navies.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Support: Provide mechanical engineering support across diverse naval platform systems, equipment, and critical marine services.

• Requirements Management: Manage platform system requirements while collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.

• Design Integrity: Support systems design integrity across varied engineering contexts, classes, and programme deployments.

• Investigations & Assessments: Conduct technical investigations, impact assessments, and integration analyses to enable evidence-based decisions.

• Change Implementation: Support the safe and efficient implementation of design changes while maintaining configuration control.

What We Are Looking For

• Educational Background: Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer with relevant industry experience.

• Professional Development: Actively working towards professional registration (e.g., IMechE or equivalent).

• Domain Familiarity: Basic understanding of complex naval platforms, systems, and equipment, alongside knowledge of engineering standards and governance.

• Core Experience: Practical background in areas such as mechanical systems design assurance, product lifecycle management, requirements compliance, CAD, equipment design, or safety case development.
