Join a team that works brilliantly together to make a difference, supporting the safe movement of people, goods, and equipment by ensuring the efficient delivery of essential highway services across the Somerset network.
Network Maintenance: Carry out reactive works, emergency responses, and minor civils/improvement works to resolve defects on the highway within designated timescales.
Seasonal & Emergency Support: Play a crucial role in winter maintenance activities and provide essential support during severe weather operations.
Digital Reporting & Tracking: Utilise tablet devices and applications at incidents and for emergency repairs to provide accurate work records and update relevant parties promptly.
Traffic Management: Safely handle the installation and removal of emergency traffic management signage.
Customer Care & Fleet Upkeep: Promote excellent customer service by interacting politely with clients and network users. Conduct daily defect reports on vehicles, ensuring they are cleaned and maintained in good working order.
Licence Required: Must hold a full UK driving licence (LGV training will be provided once you meet necessary business targets).
Team & Initiative: Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a collaborative team, communicating faults or issues effectively.
