Salary: Up to £49,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

About the Role
Join our esteemed defence client and play a crucial part in delivering advanced, technology-led solutions! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this vital Senior Combat Systems Engineer position on behalf of BAE Systems.
Operating within the Warship Technical Authority (WTA) Service Hub under Warship Support, you will provide engineering support to programmes and projects across Royal Navy surface ship contracts, international naval support, and consultancy activities. You will contribute to core elements such as design change, technical assurance, material state and obsolescence management, and future support planning.
Key Responsibilities
Combat Systems Support: Provide engineering support across a wide range of platforms and programmes, encompassing Combat Management Systems, sensors, effectors, networks, and weapon systems.
Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with Principal and Senior Engineers to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including the MOD, overseas navies, OEMs, and project teams.
Design Integrity: Assist in maintaining platform system design integrity across diverse engineering contexts, pan-class deployments, and cross-programme initiatives.
Investigations & Integration: Support structured investigations, impact assessments, and integration analyses to drive evidence-based technical decisions.
Safety & Configuration Control: Support the safe and efficient implementation of platform design changes, configuration control, and the collation of evidence for safety cases and customer certification submissions.
What We Are Looking For
Industry Background: Knowledge of typical UK naval domains with a strong background in combat systems, electrical engineering, or munitions.
Standards & Lifecycle: Solid understanding of defence and maritime standards applicable to the UK MOD, alongside a sound grasp of the engineering lifecycle.
Qualifications: Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Systems, Combat Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with a commitment to working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
