About the Role
Are you someone who enjoys working with young people and making a real difference to their learning in Science? We are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join the team at Lift Greensward—a school rated "Good" by Ofsted with a vibrant, nationally ranked sixth form.
In this vital role, you will help bring practical lessons to life by supporting teaching staff and students. You will prepare materials, maintain equipment, and ensure our laboratories are safe, organized, and fully equipped to foster exceptional learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Help teachers prepare practical lessons and set up equipment safely and efficiently.
Guide students on how to use materials, specialist tools, and equipment safely.
Keep track of resources, order supplies, and carry out basic equipment repairs and maintenance.
Support rigorous health and safety standards, contribute to risk assessments, and maintain well-resourced laboratory spaces.
Help with school projects, events, and displays that celebrate student achievements.
What We Are Looking For
GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 (or equivalent), alongside A-level or BTEC qualifications in a Science subject.
Previous experience using and maintaining equipment, with comfort working with IT and specialist tools.
A calm, resilient, and caring approach with experience working with children or young people, plus a strong understanding of safeguarding.
The ability to build positive relationships, handle confidential information appropriately, and respond to students in a supportive, professional manner.
