About the Role
Join our esteemed defence and maritime client and play a vital role in delivering advanced underwater and naval weapon systems! As a staffing partner, Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to recruit for this collaborative Commercial Officer position on behalf of BAE Systems.
In this role within the Underwater Battlespace (UWB) and Future Products (FP) sector, you will support Senior Commercial Officers and Commercial Managers in delivering commercial services that enable successful project outcomes. You will gain hands-on experience managing diverse contract types, building valuable commercial knowledge, and enjoying clear pathways for professional growth within the maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management: Provide commercial support and contract management across a portfolio of projects, programmes, and campaigns.
Routine Bid Activities: Prepare commercial proposals, review contract terms, conditions, and documentation (including NDAs), and actively participate in customer meetings.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with projects, business development, finance, legal, and customers to manage contracts, handle queries, create reports, request milestone payments, and identify growth opportunities.
Bid Approval Leadership: Lead the commercial bid approval process for routine bids by presenting bid packs and engaging specialist functions.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal teams and supply chain partners to ensure contractual obligations are effectively managed and communicated.
What Me Are Looking For
Commercial Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing commercial, contract administration, or supply chain environment.
Contracting Knowledge: A solid understanding of core contracting principles and the ability to apply them effectively in practice.
Financial Awareness: Good financial acumen with the ability to interpret pricing information and support informed decision-making.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to building positive relationships across teams and stakeholders.
