Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Five Rivers Child Care Ltd to recruit a dedicated Supervising Social Worker for our fostering service in Thornaby. This is a part-time, backfill opportunity resulting from an internal promotion, operating under the line management of Sarah Turner within an award-winning social enterprise committed to transforming children's lives.
In this role, you will manage a supportive caseload, providing rigorous supervision, intervention, and guidance to our foster carers. Working within a trauma-informed practice model, you will offer therapeutic support to ensure exceptional standards of care, contribute to Form F assessments, and participate in recruitment activities to welcome new foster carers to our network. You will also share in providing out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
Carer Supervision: Provide high levels of support and supervision to foster carers with a manageable, balanced caseload.
Therapeutic Practice: Embed a trauma-informed approach, offering expert guidance and emotional insight.
Assessments & Planning: Complete Form F assessments and actively contribute to care planning and multi-agency strategy meetings.
Recruitment: Participate in proactive outreach and assessment to attract new foster carers.
Out-of-Hours Cover: Participate in the team's out-of-hours support rota.
Qualifications & Registration: A formal Social Work qualification and current registration with Social Work England.
Mobility & Compliance: A valid UK driving licence and the Right to Work in the UK.
Skills & Attributes: Strong written, IT, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience: Previous experience within the fostering sector is desirable, coupled with a deep-seated passion for improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
Financial Package: Pro-rata salary of £33,755 – £39,547 p.a. (DOE) complemented by a £4,500 pro-rata car allowance and an enhanced company pension scheme (4% employer contribution).
