Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is pleased to assist our valued client in recruiting a dedicated Maternity Support Worker (Band 3) to join the Dover Community Midwifery team in Dover, UK. Situated at Buckland Hospital within an established NHS Foundation Trust, this 12-month fixed-term position (maternity leave cover) offers a rewarding opportunity to support community midwifery care.

In this full-time position working 37.5 hours per week on a shift basis, you will support midwives in delivering high-quality, woman-centered care across the pregnancy continuum. You will provide direct clinical care to mothers and infants in community settings while also undertaking essential administrative, clerical, and supportive tasks to ensure efficient team operations.

Role Description

As a Band 3 Maternity Support Worker, you will deliver clinical assistance (such as venepuncture and newborn clinical tasks), support mothers and babies, and perform administrative duties within the community midwifery service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform essential clinical procedures including venepuncture and clinical observations to support midwives in delivering community-based care.

• Provide compassionate clinical and practical assistance to mothers and newborn babies throughout the antenatal and postnatal periods.

• Maintain clear clinical documentation, operate digital healthcare systems (e.g., Sunrise, PAS, E3), and assist with clerical and departmental administrative tasks.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, 3 A-Levels, or a recognized Maternity Support Worker qualification.

• Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Maternity Care Assistant (MCA) with demonstrated skills in venepuncture.

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for community work travel, along with strong communication and IT skills.
