Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon—part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider—to recruit a dedicated and flexible Pharmacy Assistant for their Pharmacy department.
This is a bank role operating on an "as and when required" basis, giving you total schedule flexibility to supplement pharmacy staffing levels during busy periods or provide essential cover for annual leave and absences. In this vital healthcare support role, you will assist in the safe supply, preparation, and distribution of medicines across wards and departments while maintaining rigorous inventory and safety standards.
Medicine Preparation & Supply: Assist under appropriate supervision with the preparation and labelling of medicines for inpatients, outpatients, and discharge prescriptions, ensuring accurate picking, packing, and distribution to clinical areas.
Stock & Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and expiry dates to help maintain accurate inventory across the pharmacy and hospital departments.
Administrative Support: Assist with prescription tracking, data entry on pharmacy systems, and the completion of relevant operational records.
Enquiry Handling: Respond professionally and helpfully to basic enquiries from patients, nursing staff, and colleagues.
Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to all health and safety guidelines, infection prevention protocols, and medicines management standards.
Education & Skills: Good general education demonstrating solid literacy and numeracy skills.
Experience: Previous background gained within a customer service, healthcare, or stock-handling role.
Core Competencies: Strong communication and organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a firm commitment to safe working practices.
Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively both independently under supervision and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
