About the Role
We are recruiting a creative and enthusiastic Second Chef on a permanent basis on behalf of Arbury Court in Warrington—a specialist facility providing medium-secure, low-secure, and psychiatric intensive care (PICU) environments for adult women.
Working 37.5 hours a week alongside a dedicated kitchen team, you will craft daily meals, support the Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations, menu planning, stock control, and budgeting, and take full shift responsibility when required. You will also get to infuse your own flair into catering for exciting special events, theme days, and festive occasions, all within a calm, supportive environment.
What You Will Need
Essential Criteria: Aged 18 or older, GCSE (or equivalent) in English, City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) in Basic Food Preparation/Cooking, and Essential Basic Food Hygiene.
Desirable Criteria: Intermediate Food Hygiene certification, previous experience in a similar environment, mass catering delivery, and experience with menu planning, costings, and ordering.
Attributes: Strong leadership qualities, creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative team-focused approach.
Proximity & Commutability: Located just off Junction 9 of the M62 in Winwick, Arbury Court has excellent transport links, making it easily commutable from most local areas between Liverpool and Manchester.
