Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Northern LGPS—a c£70bn pooled investment partnership for the Local Government Pension Scheme, bringing together the investments of Greater Manchester Pension Fund, Merseyside Pension Fund, and West Yorkshire Pension Fund.

As Northern LGPS establishes a new FCA-authorised investment management company, we are seeking a qualified, strategic Finance Manager. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in developing a robust financial control environment, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, and working closely with outsourced finance managed services to ensure accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.

About the Role

As Finance Manager, you will help shape the finance function of a growing investment management organisation from the outset. Key responsibilities include:

• Financial Operations & Control: Managing day-to-day finance functions, overseeing cash flow forecasting, liquidity monitoring, and maintaining a robust financial control environment.

• Budgeting & Reporting: Leading annual budgeting, forecasting, monthly management accounts reviews, financial reporting packs, and variance analysis.

• Outsourced Provider Oversight: Acting as the principal operational contact for the outsourced finance managed service, monitoring service levels and KPIs.

• Regulatory Compliance & Audits: Supporting regulatory reporting (including MIFIDPRU returns and ICARA processes), reviewing tax returns/VAT, and coordinating statutory accounts and external audit activities.

About You

We are looking for a skilled finance professional who brings:

• Essential Qualification: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong track record gained within an FCA-regulated investment firm.

• Proven experience in financial management, operational finance, budgeting, and forecasting.

• Strong background in financial controls, governance, cash flow management, and statutory/regulatory reporting.

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
