About the Role
Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester—part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading independent healthcare provider—to recruit an experienced Instrument Coordinator for their dynamic Theatre department.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours a week on a flexible shift pattern. In this role, you will play a vital part in overseeing the preparation, availability, and management of surgical instrumentation to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient daily theatre operations.
Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation Management: Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, coordinating closely with internal decontamination services and external hospitals when needed.
Schedule Support: Ensure all instruments are thoroughly cleaned, fully functional, and delivered to the correct locations on time to support daily theatre schedules.
Consumables & Procurement: Assist with ordering, rotating, and replenishing theatre consumables in alignment with preferred suppliers and company procurement policies.
Seamless Collaboration: Support the wider theatre team to deliver smooth surgical services, contributing directly to optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Communication: Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement teams, and external providers to maintain clarity and equipment continuity.
Compliance & Safety: Guarantee that all instrument handling strictly complies with hospital policies, rigorous infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
Candidate Requirements
Clinical Experience: Previous working experience within a theatre environment or a clinical support role.
Organisational Skills: Strong ability to organise, multitask, and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Technical Knowledge: A foundational understanding of infection control standards, proper instrument handling, and decontamination processes.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, paired with a professional, reliable, and detail-oriented approach.

Competitive Pay: Starting salary of up to £27,000.00 per year based on your experience and qualifications.
