Position: Kitchen Assistant
Location: Avonbourne Care Centre (Bourne House), Mitre Way, Old Sarum, Salisbury, SP4 6GW
Pay Rate: £13.01 per hour (Mon–Fri) / £13.41 per hour (Weekends)
Shift Times Available: A mix of 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Bank shifts to cover annual leave and sickness)

As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are partnering to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Bank Kitchen Assistant for Bourne House at Avonbourne Care Centre. Located in historic Old Sarum just north of Salisbury, Avonbourne Care Centre offers an elegant, welcoming, and relaxing environment with compassionate, individualised care across homely households.
In this role, you will join a passionate, hard-working catering team to help create delicious meals, snacks, and drinks for our residents. By getting to know our residents and understanding their individual likes and dislikes, you will help ensure that mealtimes are always a bright and enjoyable highlight of their day.
Meal Preparation & Support: Assist the catering team in preparing and serving nutritious meals, snacks, and refreshments.
Kitchen Standards: Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety across all kitchen and food preparation areas.
Resident Engagement: Interact warmly with residents to learn their personal food preferences and dietary needs.
Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly alongside the wider catering and care team to deliver a fantastic dining experience.
Experience: Formal catering experience is not required—we provide comprehensive training! Holding a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is a helpful plus.
Attitude: A positive, can-do approach with a passion for cooking, high hygiene standards, and delivering great service.
Personality: Friendly, approachable, and confident in engaging with elderly residents to understand their personal choices.
Competitive Pay: £13.01 per hour Monday to Friday, increasing to £13.41 per hour at weekends.
