Employment Type: Bank Contract (Flexible shifts varying from 8:30 AM – 6:30 PM or 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM)

Salary: £13.30 per hour

Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic, food-passionate Kitchen Assistant to join the team on a flexible bank contract. In this role, you will act as the crucial link between the main kitchen and our residents, ensuring that every meal is served to the highest standard and brings warmth and joy to the dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the essential link between the main kitchen and care home residents.

• Assist chefs in plating meals, preparing food trolleys, and maintaining clean, safe, and tidy food preparation spaces.

• Monitor stock rotation and strictly comply with company policies, COSHH, and HACCP guidelines.

• Assist with catering for special events, seasonal activities, and celebrations (such as summer BBQs and Christmas parties).

• Communicate warmly with residents, cherishing the little moments and helping them feel right at home.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• A genuine passion for food with previous experience working in a kitchen environment.

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent).

• High standards of cleanliness, organisation, and adherence to safety protocols.

• A caring, communicative, and team-oriented approach.
