As Northern LGPS establishes a new FCA-authorised investment management company, we are seeking a strategic and technical Investment Applications Lead. Working closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Head of Technology, and IT Services & Infrastructure Lead, you will drive the implementation, configuration, and ongoing development of investment technology applications, ensuring robust data platforms and integrations support high-performing operations from day one.
As Investment Applications Lead, you will shape the technology environment and act as the internal subject matter expert for investment-facing tech. Key responsibilities include:
Applications & Integration: Leading the implementation, configuration, and testing of portfolio management systems, data platforms, and reporting tools, ensuring seamless integrations with third-party providers.
Operational Readiness: Ensuring systems, data flows, and reporting capabilities operate in line with governance requirements, internal policies, and regulatory obligations.
Collaboration & Delivery: Working alongside senior stakeholders across technology and investment teams to translate business needs into robust, reliable application solutions.
Performance & Vendor Oversight: Overseeing application performance, assessing technology vendors and roadmaps, maintaining technical documentation, and coordinating user training.
Risk & Governance: Identifying, managing, and escalating application risks, integration failures, and operational issues through appropriate governance channels.
We are looking for an experienced investment technology professional who brings:
Proven experience managing investment technology applications, portfolio management systems, data platforms, and reporting tools.
Strong background in implementing, configuring, and testing complex technology solutions and system integrations.
A solid understanding of investment operations, data flows, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
