In this flexible bank position, you will deliver a specialist casting and splinting service to orthopaedic patients, primarily supporting key clinic sessions on Tuesday afternoons and evenings.
Working alongside leading orthopaedic consultants and clinical staff, you will ensure high standards of patient care, precise application of casting techniques, and effective patient education. This position is ideal for an experienced technician looking to utilize specialist orthopaedic skills within a world-class clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in the application, modification, and removal of specialized casts, splints, and traction equipment.
Assess patient needs, provide appropriate wound care, and accurately document all clinical treatments in compliance with standards.
Educate patients and carers on cast care, mobility, and potential complications, offering practical guidance for daily living.
Requirements
Mandatory British Casting Certificate (BCC) qualification.
Minimum NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care with relevant clinical casting experience.
Strong knowledge of health and safety standards, risk assessment, and precise clinical record-keeping.
