Location: Peterborough Distribution Depot
Pay Rate: £13.90 per hour (+ £1.15 hourly enhancement for hours worked between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM)
Job Type: Permanent - Full-Time
Shift Pattern: Monday to Saturday (5 days out of 6) with a rolling rest day and mandatory Saturdays (No Sunday work; 4:00 AM start time)
About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are thrilled to partner with Greencore (following their recent combination with Bakkavor) to recruit dependable logistics professionals. Greencore is a market-leading creator of convenience food, employing over 28,000 colleagues across 36 manufacturing sites and 21 distribution depots.
At their Peterborough distribution depot, a team operates a fleet of 26 vehicles across 30 routes to serve convenience retailers and forecourts. We are currently looking for reliable Van Drivers to join their nationwide team, helping make millions of vital fresh food deliveries each year and keeping Britain fed.
Key Responsibilities
Timely Deliveries: Complete an average of 20 to 30 drops per day on pre-planned routes lasting between 8 to 12 hours.
Customer Service: Deliver fresh chilled food products directly to regional convenience stores and forecourts with a professional, customer-focused attitude.
Route & Shift Execution: Work a 5-day rotating shift pattern (including mandatory Saturdays and a rolling weekday off) starting at 4:00 AM.
Overtime Opportunities: Benefit from overtime pay at time-and-a-quarter after completing 42 hours per week.
What We Are Looking For
Full on-the-job training is provided, and you will be paired up with an experienced team member when you start. The ideal candidate will possess:
Driving Credentials: A full UK driving license held for at least 6 months with a maximum of 6 points.
People Skills: A friendly, customer-facing demeanor—being great with people is the primary trait Greencore looks for in their drivers.
Work Ethic: Adaptability to early morning starts (4:00 AM) and commitment to a Monday–Saturday rolling rota.
