We are currently partnering with The Ridgeway Hospital—part of the prestigious Circle Health Group, Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare—to find a compassionate and skilled Healthcare Assistant (Bank) to join their Imaging and Cardiology team.
As a Cardiology Bank Healthcare Assistant, you will provide vital support to clinical teams within the Imaging and Cardiology department. Alongside general patient care duties, you will specialize in completing ECGs and chaperoning for Echo scans, ensuring patients feel safe, comfortable, and well-cared for throughout their visits.
Key Responsibilities:
Complete ECGs and act as a chaperone for Echo scans.
Assist patients with personal hygiene, washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, and mobility needs while respecting their dignity and preferences.
Support patients with nutritional needs, including eating, drinking, and accurate intake documentation.
Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families, creating a caring environment.
Carry out and accurately record routine clinical observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels) after appropriate training.
Support basic clinical procedures, including wound care setup, catheter care, pressure area prevention, and mobility aid usage.
Prepare and maintain clinical areas, equipment, beds, and trolleys in readiness for patient use.
Collaborate seamlessly with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin personnel to ensure safe, efficient care.
To thrive in this role, applicants should meet the following criteria:
Experience: Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary setting).
Attributes: Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a naturally caring, compassionate attitude.
Competencies: Ability to follow instructions closely, escalate concerns appropriately, and work physically on tasks including moving and handling.
Skills: Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.
Knowledge: Understanding of safeguarding, infection control, and patient confidentiality procedures.
