About the Role Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with Avery Healthcare Group—one of the UK's leading providers of luxury elderly care homes—to source an experienced and dedicated Regional Maintenance Support Operative for their Central Region. Key Responsibilities
Provide essential maintenance cover independently across multiple care homes within the central region when local support is unavailable.
Complete routine safety and compliance inspections, including checks on fire safety, water systems, emergency lighting, equipment, and other essential services.
Carry out general repairs and maintenance, spanning plumbing, carpentry, decorating, basic electrical work, and general building upkeep.
Train and support new maintenance colleagues in statutory checks and maintenance procedures, communicating regularly with Estates Managers regarding site updates.
Assist with property improvement and refurbishment projects—including planning, risk assessments, and material procurement—when regular maintenance cover is not required.
Manage company vehicle responsibilities, including basic upkeep and expense reporting, while maintaining high health and safety standards across all tasks.
Person Specification & Requirements
Experience: Proven background in general building maintenance or a trade-related environment.
Core Skills & Knowledge: Practical multi-trade skills (plumbing, carpentry, decorating, basic electrical work) and working knowledge of health and safety procedures, including manual handling and COSHH.
Key Qualities: Excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to work independently on your own initiative, and a flexible approach with a willingness to travel extensively (including occasional overnight stays).
Licensing: Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Compliance: Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check required (cost met by Avery Healthcare) alongside proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
