About the Role Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with DoctorPA Secure LTD—specialists in secure environment healthcare since 2014—to source an experienced General Practitioner for HMP Leyhill. Operating under their core CARE ethos (Compassionate, Assurance, Respectful, Equitable care), DoctorPA Secure is dedicated to reducing health inequalities, ensuring continuity of care, and providing a supportive, balanced environment for clinical staff working with vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive primary care services, including consultations, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and specialist referrals.
Manage chronic diseases, acute presentations, mental health conditions, and substance misuse / detox pathways.
Collaborate closely with onsite nursing staff, mental health professionals, pharmacists, and external providers.
Participate actively in clinical audits, risk assessments, safeguarding processes, and clinical governance activities.
Maintain accurate, comprehensive clinical records utilizing the facility's electronic health record system.
Person Specification & Requirements
Qualifications & Registration: Fully qualified General Practitioner with current GMC registration and a licence to practice in the UK with no restrictions.
Clinical Expertise: Sound clinical decision-making skills in primary care, with a strong understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and healthcare delivery in secure or vulnerable settings.
Desirable Criteria: RCGP part 1 & part 2 (Substance Misuse) qualifications, or prior experience working in prison healthcare, secure units, or with marginalized groups.
Compliance: Subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
