About the Role

Supportive Bridge Staffing Agency is proud to partner with a welcoming, community-focused food store in Carlisle to recruit an enthusiastic Customer Team Member.

In this varied role, you will be the friendly face of the store, delivering exceptional customer service and playing a key part in making life easier for your local community. Whether you're assisting on the shop floor, working on tills, managing stock, or supporting in-store services like our in-store bakery, no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service: Provide a friendly, helpful, and thoughtful shopping experience, putting customers first, responding to queries, and championing Co-op Membership.

• In-Store Operations: Work hands-on on the shop floor and tills, assist with our in-store bakery, keep shelves stocked, and maintain store safety and compliance.

• Team Collaboration: Work together with store colleagues to solve problems and support new product introductions.

• Community Engagement: Get involved in local activities, events, and charity connections.

What We’re Looking For

• Age Requirement: Must be aged 18 or over to apply for this role (due to business needs and shift patterns involving early mornings or late evenings).

• Experience: Formal retail experience is not essential—we provide full, paid training!

• Attributes: A genuine care for customer needs, great people skills, a positive approach to change and problem-solving, and the flexibility to work a range of shifts.

• Working Flexibility: Varied shifts including early mornings (store opening), afternoons, late evenings (store closing), and weekends (availability can be discussed further at interview).
