Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Advanced Practitioner – GP Out of Hours
Position: Advanced Practitioner (Nurse, Paramedic, or Pharmacist)
Location: Multiple locations across Northamptonshire (Northampton General, Kettering General, Danetre, and Wellingborough Hospital)
Salary: DHU Band 8b.0, £64,234 – £74,905 per annum (pro rata), enhanced by 30% for evening work and 45% for weekend work
Working Pattern: Substantive contracted weekend positions (various shift patterns across Saturdays and Sundays ranging from 4 to 9 hours, allowing you to select your preferred hours across a 4-week rota; please note bank hours are not available)

About the Role
As an Advanced Practitioner with our supportive bridge staffing agency, you will step onto the frontline of our GP Out of Hours service across Northamptonshire, making critical, life-changing decisions every single day. Operating outside core GP hours, you will provide safe, effective, and compassionate urgent care through telephone triage, clinical assessments, face-to-face consultations at our bases, and home visits for patients unable to travel.
Key Responsibilities
Practise autonomously as an independent prescriber (NMC, HCPC, or GPhC) with advanced clinical assessment skills.
Assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patients presenting with a wide variety of urgent and unscheduled care needs.
Conduct telephone triage, face-to-face clinical consultations, and home visits as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Collaborate closely with GPs, nurses, and support staff to ensure patients receive the most appropriate clinical outcomes and seamless care pathways.
