Head of Maintenance

Role Description

Supportive Bridge Staffing & Recruitment is seeking an experienced and trade-skilled Head of Maintenance to oversee facilities and grounds management at Stonebridge Manor Care Home in Tenterden, UK. Leading the maintenance function, you will ensure a safe, immaculate, and fully operational environment that supports high standards of care for residents, staff, and visitors.

This position is ideal for a proactive facilities leader or tradesperson with hands-on property maintenance experience and team management capabilities. If you combine technical maintenance expertise, budget management skills, and an empathetic approach toward care home residents, this role provides an empowering leadership opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform comprehensive interior and exterior maintenance, general repairs, health and safety checks, and groundskeeping duties.

• Lead and support the maintenance team, manage annual department budgets alongside the General Manager, and coordinate with external contractors for specialized projects.

• Ensure all maintenance work and safety inspections are completed with sensitivity to resident wellbeing and in full compliance with care sector regulations.

Requirements

• Hands-on property maintenance experience with proficiency in at least one core trade skill and broad general maintenance capabilities.

• Full UK driving licence, solid IT literacy, and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).

• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills paired with a caring and patient nature.
