About the Role
As a supportive bridge staffing agency, we are partnering to find an experienced Chef for Goodson Lodge, a purpose-built care home in Trowbridge offering specialist dementia, residential, and respite care.
Say goodbye to split shifts and anti-social hours! In this role, you will enjoy full autonomy over menu development, crafting nutritious, seasonal, and high-quality meals that residents love. You will oversee all kitchen and catering operations, manage a small team, and build meaningful relationships with residents to cater to their personal dietary preferences.
Key Responsibilities
Menu Design & Autonomy: Develop creative, balanced menus using fresh, seasonal ingredients while accommodating specialist dietary requirements.
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage a small kitchen team, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Resident Engagement: Consult directly with elderly residents and their families to ensure a personalized, high-quality dining experience.
Kitchen Management: Handle stock control, budgeting, and kitchen operations effectively.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Proven background working in a professional kitchen, catering for large numbers, and planning menus for specialist diets.
Leadership: Confident in leading a team and engaging warmly with elderly residents.
Qualifications: Ideally holding or working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership (or equivalent) preferred, but a passion for great food and care is essential.
