About the Role
We are acting on behalf of XL Team LTD—a leading nationwide provider of comprehensive event medical, safety, and health solutions rooted in the North East—to recruit dedicated Event Medical Responders.
In this role, you will form a vital part of the Event Medical and Health Services team, safeguarding public safety at a wide variety of community events, festivals, sports fixtures, and TV/film productions. You will deliver life-saving first-response care, staff on-site medical centers, and conduct roaming foot patrols, all while developing your clinical skills through ongoing training and structured professional development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical Care & First Response
Deliver evidence-based care within your defined clinical scope of practice, operating as a solo first-responder or as part of a wider multidisciplinary team.
Administer Basic Life Support (BLS), including the safe use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and emergency oxygen.
Assess patients to determine the nature and severity of illnesses or injuries, providing initial treatment for minor issues and escalating rapidly to senior clinicians when handling serious cases.
Complete all Patient Report Forms (PRFs) and documentation accurately, legibly, and promptly.
2. Operational Readiness & Communication
Respond to emergency and non-emergency requests calmly and efficiently, managing radio communications with accuracy and strict confidentiality.
Maintain complete clinical readiness by cleaning, organizing, and restocking medical kits and equipment after each use.
Liaise professionally with event staff, security, volunteers, spectators, and external emergency services (including ambulance crews and partner agencies).
3. Professional Standards & Development
Uphold patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
Comply strictly with infection prevention and control guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Actively participate in all mandatory e-learning, ongoing continuous professional development (CPD), practical simulations, and the unpaid XL Team training programme.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
Qualifications: A valid FREC 3 qualification (or equivalent from the 2025 specification) or an equivalent PHEM D qualification.
Driving Licence: Full UK manual driving licence held for 12 months or more.
Commitment: Willingness to complete the unpaid XL Team training programme and undertake ongoing training, CPD, and mandatory e-learning.
Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication skills, the ability to follow instructions precisely, and a flexible, professional approach to varying shift schedules.
Desirable Criteria
Prior practical experience working at events, sports fixtures, music festivals, or similar high-footfall environments.
